Description
The mill lies on the south eastern outskirts of the village of St Florence, adjacent to the artificially straightened water course known as The Ritec. It is shown and annotated on Ordnance Survey 25in mapping of 1890 as "Old Mill" and on the mapping of 2000 as "Mill (disused)". It is believed to have been a tide mill originally, but when the Ritec silted up in the early nineteenth century (around 1820-30) the mill may have fallen into disuse then.
