Description
Machen Forge and Tinplate Works is one of the oldest iron forge sites in South Wales. The forge dates from the sixteenth century and it expanded into tinplate manufacture in 1826 until closing in 1886. The remains include the ruined stables and a disused viaduct (nprn 34983) that was part of an extensive water power system.
