The Llanelly Tinplate Works were established in 1851 and depicted on early editions of the OS County series (Carmarthen. LVIII.11 1880-1916) and in greater detail on the 1:500 Town Plan of 1880. The site is now built over and there can be little if any surviving traces of the once mighty works.

The sometime manager, J S Tregoning, built a comfortable house, Highfield House, 1.0km to the north on the outskirts of Llanelli (see NPRN 17428).
