Description
A relatively small earthwork enclosure can be recognised on the aerial coverage of the Roman marching camp(s) (NPRN 305037) and some traces are apparent on the ground.
The enclosure, defined by a bank, is rectangular with rouded corners. It is about 55m north-south by 35m. It is best preserved on the north, where it is sheltered by a field boundary.
There are a range of ostensibly similar enclosures in the immediate area (NPRN 308498-9). It is possible that this is a later prehistoric or Roman work, although a later date is equally possible.
