A linear water course runs along the valley bottom, taking water from a weir on the River Ceiriog to Chirk Corn Mill (nprn 310469).
The water course is cut into the earth and lined with stone and brick and passes under the canal aqueduct (nprn 34406) and the railway viaduct (nprn 87002).
