According to Jenkins (Jenkins, J. Geraint, The Welsh Woollen Industry, National Museum Wales/Welsh Folk Museum, 1969) this site was a woollen mill between c.1870 and 1928. Nothing is shown at this location on the first edition Ordnance Survey 25in map of 1889, but "Ffrwd-wen Mills (Corn)" is depicted and annotated on the second edition map of 1905.
