Description
Large V-shaped fish trap extending from the stony foreshore beyond limits of low water. Each arm measures approximately 140m. The clarity of the stone-built trap is degraded by an accumulation of stone and weeds against its arms, and the fact that some parts of the structure appear to have been washed away. These characteristics suggest a certain antiquity to the trap, and its positioning directly below the medieval church of St Celynin (NPRN 43864) increase the likelihood of a medieval date. The trap was identified in 2009 during RCAHMW aerial reconnaissance.
