The remains of a wreck are exposed towards the north end of Margam Sand at low tide, comprising rectangular arrangements of beams and box-like structures.
The wreck was inspected by Malvern Archaeological Diving Unit (MADU) in October 2012.
One identity is offered by T Bennett - the remains of a World War II Mulberry Harbour Phoenix Unit. Additionally, the remains of a Cromwell tank is reported to be visible at very low tides. The tank was being used to simulate Normandy beachhead landings when it sank into soft sand.
