Description
Monmouth Cricket Ground is first recorded as hosting matches in 1842, playing at various locations including a permanent ground at Drybridge Park from 1874 to 1891. This Beaufort Meadow ground was located in the May Hill district of Monmouth on the eastern bank of the river Wye, and was the home of Monmouth Cricket Club from c1891 to c1914. It is now part of Monmouth School playing fields, and Monmouth Cricket Club is based at the Monmouth Sports Ground in Chippenham Park.
