Philpotts Mill is depicted on the 1st and 2nd editions of the 25-inch O. S. maps (1881 and 1901) as a working corn mill, adjacent to a weir across the Afon Gafenni. It is not named on the 3rd edition map of 1920. The building survives on modern maps and the adjacent road is named Mill Close.
