St. Mary's Catholic Primary School is located on Havard Road, Llanelli. Comprising a low profile red-brick with pitched roof, the school was built by Mowlem South Wales in 1989-90, and a Roman Catholic secondary school (St John Lloyd Comprehensive School, NPRN 415546) opened shortly afterward in 1992 on the same street. As of 2018 the St Mary's Catholic Primary School had 194 pupils on roll aged between 3 and 11 years. St. Mary's is maintained by Carmarthenshire Local Education Authority and serves Llanelli, Burry Port and Ammanford.
