A railway siding from the London and North Western Railway at the southern end of the Ffestiniog Tunnel served a slate wharf where slates from Llechwedd Quarries were transferred from narrow gauge quarry trucks to standard gauge waggons. The siding has been lifted but the wharf remains, complete with a hand-operated crane.
