Coed-yr-eglwys quarry is located to the east of St Andrews Major. The quarry first appears on the Ordnance Survey County Series Mapping of 1919 (Glamorgan XLVII 9, 3rd edition) measuring approx. 100m by 40m complete with lime kilns. By the 4th edition mapping in 1942 the quarry had grown to 175m by 100m and has since expanded, now covering some 315m by 175m. The quarry is now disused.
