This field name is recorded on the mid-nineteenth century Tithe schedule, and indicates the possible existence of a cemetary in this vicinity. The fact that the field is immediately south of the farm, Lan (possibly deriving from `Llan?, usually meaning ecclesiastical enclosure) lends weight to this assumption.
