Description
Parc yr Eglwys once belonged to Fronrhedyn farm, some 100m to its north-east. Fronrhedyn (some 460m east-south-east of the modern Coynant farm site) is not named on modern Ordnance Survey mapping, which depicts the site as forested. Two fields to the west of Parc yr Eglwys, was a field known as 'Parc Pen Capel'. This is immediately east of the modern site of Coynant farm (which historic Ordnance Survey mapping depicts some 180m further north-east). It is thought that either Parc yr Eglwys or Parc Pen Capel was the site of St Meugan's Chapel, supposedly located on a spot of ground whose name is given as 'Lhain y Cappel'.
