The former British School and School house at the rear, was built in 1858 and enlarged in 1887. It was a single storey building with yellow brick dressings and slate roofs, with four identical windows in the south wall and a small porch between the first and second windows. The third window was replaced in 1887 with a large gable and two tall windows and a cross wing was added across the end of the building.
