Potential hillfort/castle site located to the south-east of Cwm Clyd farm in the Claerwen Valley. This outcrop of rock forms a natural mound which, when viewed with Lidar reveals a curving bank enclosing the summit, with a diameter of approx. 40m. A shorter bank is evident c. 19m to the west, measuring approx. 36m in length. The site was discovered by Phil Lewis, who has visited the site on foot and describes a mound, almost conical in shape with a large flattish top. The slopes and ground were covered in large mature oaks and thick tall bracken at the time of his visit. The road to the north follows the shape of the mound, to the south lies the Afon Claerwen. The field immediately to the east of the site is named as Waun yn Pant y Dinas on the Llansantfraid Cwmdauddwr Tithe map of 1820.
