Rifle mounds associated with firing range NPRN 419942 are all individually portrayed on the OS fourth edition County Series map as built linear banks at 100 yard intervals to the west of the target area (420031).
100 yards SS85117720: area entirely obscured by gorse and thorns.
200 yards SS85027719: now occupied by a footpath; mound removed?
300 yards SS84537720: nothing seen.
400 yards SS84837720: only dune formations, nothing artificial seen.
500 yards SS86747722: possible formation partly overgrown, partly dug away.
600 yards SS84647723: a sandy bank measuring 36m long (N-S) by 12.5m wide and 2.3m high. Its depicted length was about 60m. The profile of the bank has probably changed. On its west side are two concrete steps ascending the bank with a third exposed by burrowing and suggesting that more features lie buried.
