Description
No longer truly visible on the ground but the line of this probable Medieval Park Wall partially follows a modern fence line The Wall is first mentioned in 1539 in a "survey" as: "The Walled Park, two miles in circumference and one mile from Carew Castle". Saxton's map of 1578 shows the wall occupying the peninsula between the Carew and Cresswell rivers and it is also shown in the same position on Speed's map of 1676.
