A "Woollen Factory" is depicted and annotated on the Ordnance Survey first and second edition 25in mapping of 1889 and 1906 respectively. Water is supplied to a wheel at the eastern end of the mill in a leat some 250m long, taken from a weir on the Afon Duad. The mill was established in 1880, and is still operating in 2019.
