The 1st, 2nd and 3rd editions of the historic 25-inch O. S. maps, published in 1889, 1900 and 1918 respectively, depict an active woollen factory at this location. It lay close to the Afon Gwyrfai, with a leat only 25 metres long bringing water to the east gable of the main building. Modern aerial images show that only the foundations remain.
