Description
The 1st, 2nd and 3rd editions of the historic 25-inch O. S. maps, published in 1889, 1900 and 1915 respectively, depict a working woollen factory at this location. Water for power was taken from the Afon Gwyrfai close to where it flows out of Llyn-y-Gader, and conveyed to the mill by a 40 metre-long aqueduct. The maps suggest that the mill was accessible only by a number of footpaths.
