Description
The field name Parc-y-fynwent may refer to an early medieval cemetery site. An early Christian incised stone (NPRN 276033) was first noted in 1908, in use as a lintel above the fireplace of the now-ruinous cilrhedyn Isaf farmhouse. It now stands in the churchyard of St David's Church, Llanychaer (NPRN 308634) to the north-west of the church, at the west end of a railed enclosure. There is a holy well, Ffynnon Nicholas, in the northern boundary of the field, above the farmhouse which occupies the north-west corner. Another well lies in the south-west corner. The site is some 1km north-west of Parc-y-eglwys possible chapel site, Clyn Farm (NPRN 423698).
