The village of Gorsgoch is situated six and a half miles north west of Lampeter. The modern OS map, published in 2017, shows that there was a school on the north western edge of the village called Ysgol Gynradd y Blaenau but this seems to have closed. Gorsgoch still has a chapel called Brynhafod Welsh Baptist Church (NPRN 7366) and a public house called the Cefn Hafod Inn, both of which appear in the 1st edition of the OS map, published in 1889.
