DescriptionThe village of Porthyrhyd is situated on the southern banks of the Gwendraeth Fach river, approximately seven miles south east of Carmarthen. Amenities in the village include a post office and two public houses - the Abadam Arms and the Prince of Wales. The village's chapel - Bethlehem Baptist chapel (NPRN 6396) - was built in the early nineteenth century, and its Sunday school (NPRN 12695) was built in 1893. Both are still open as places of worship.
