The 1st and 2nd editions of the historic 25-inch O. S. maps, published in 1888 and 1906 respectively, depict a corn mill at the centre of the village, though they do not indicate that it was active at those dates. Water was abstracted from the Afon Gwynon along a 350 metres-long mill race to a pond south of the mill. All has been swept away and replaced by an estate of seven bungalows.
