Description
Royal Commission aerial reconnaissance on 19th July 2018 during the 2018 drought revealed two sides of a square or rectangular defended enclosure 50m across, with a broad ditch and at least one clear pit visible internally. The enclosure lies on a terrace above the River Teifi, in a similar position to a recorded former cottage recorded by the Ceredigion Archaeological Survey (DAT PRN 22669). It is unlikely the cropmarks relate to a post medieval cottage, but a dwelling may have re-used an earlier enclosure. The cropmark enclosure is today bisected by a minor road; its rampart may be fossilised by an extant hedgebank on the north side.
