Description
Felindre Farchog is a small village situated on the A487, approximately seven miles south west of Cardigan. The river Nyfer flows on the southern edge of the village. Although small, Felindre Farchog has some notable buildings, especially the College (NPRN 32066). In the 19th century it was remodelled and planned as a school by George Owen, who died before it was completed. Later, from the mid nineteenth century to 1976, the building served as the court room of the barony of Cemaes. Inscribed above the main entrance are the words: "Llysdy Arglwyddi Cemmes 1559-1620."
Another important building is the old chapel (NPRN 11741), built in 1791, which was later converted into a Sunday school and then vestry for the new Cana Welsh Independent chapel, built in 1810 (NPRN 11150). Felindre Farchog also has a public house, The Salutation Inn, on the western edge of the village.
