Description
The 1st and 2nd editions of the historic 25-inch O. S. maps, published in 1890 and 1906 respectively, both depict a woollen factory at this location. Water came from the tail of Llanllwch Mill (NPRN 423912), 460 metres south-west, to a mill pond on the bank south of the factory. All the buildings shown on the 1906 map are still extant: a tall two-storey rendered and asbestos (?)-roofed building with wide doors and irregular windows; next door a symmetrically-fronted, rendered and slated dwelling; and across the lane a two-storey stone and corrugated iron-roofed building and a single-storey corrugated iron shed.
