The 1st edition of the historic 25-inch O. S. maps, published in 1878, depicts a very small woollen factory at this location on the south bank of the Nant Gwenlais stream. How it made use of the water is not clear. The siteis now heavily wooded, but modern maps depict fragments of the factory walls.
