Description
Port Church is a fine estate building in picturesque cottage style with rustic verandahs and Gothic leaded casement-windows. It is an unusual combination of church and house. Built as a church and attached house by the Vaynol Estate c.1863 as a replacement for the Seamans' Mission. It is built of pink squared rubble stone with a slate roof. One and a half storeys, T-plan. The church and grounds were transferred to Llanfair-is-gaer Parochial Church Council in 1950 and subsequently sold. The church was later converted to a separate dwelling.
