Bryn-pader is now the name of a farm. The name also refers to the hill, which is reputedly the point where travellers first saw St Deiniol's;St Mor's Church, Llanfor (NPRN 43868) and repeated their paternoster. In 1913 it was noted that it was not possible to see the church from the site because of tree cover. Tomen-y-castell earthwork (NPRN 406424) is situated some 160m east of Bryn-pader. Historic (1889) Ordnance Survey mapping depicts a footpath running south-west from the earthwork, past Bryn-pader, leading to Ffynnon Deiniol;St Deiniol's well, Llanfor (NPRN 32374) and around the north-west churchyard boundary, where it joins the present road. It is possible that this is a historic route linking the sites.
