Description
A small rectangular sheep pen, 2.3 m wide, 3,3 m long, aligned north to south. The dry stone built walls are 0.5 m thick and 1,4 m high. A large gutter, 0.8 m wide and 0.9 m high, at the north end, is the only entrance. The south wall is thicker, 0.9 m, better constructed, and contains a small fireplace. It is thought that the pen is constructed against the surviving internal wall of an earlier small dwelling at this location (NPRN 500912). Methodology: 30 m transect survey. Positional accuracy: less than 10 m. Tolerance of accuracy: +/- 5m. K. Laws, EAS Ltd, 26/11/2007.
