Description
Located just beyond the upper limit of local farmland is a revetment wall of thin dry-built courses, stepped as if built in two phases. It measures approximately 5m long (north-west by south-east) running down the slope, with a maximum height of 1.5m. At right angles behind it is a partially buried wall 1m long aligned across the contour.
These features are perhaps the visible remains of the target area of a former rifle range (NPRN 420369), its shooting positions located on enclosed land to the south-west.
Recorded as part of Uplands Archaeology Initiative Survey.
