Event and Historical Information:
The BARMOUTH was a wooden smack built in 1827 at Porthmadoc. Technical and configuration specifications are given as 23 tons burthen; 37.4ft length x 12.6ft breadth x 7ft depth in hold; 1 deck, 2 masts, Smack rigged with a sliding bowsprit, is square sterned, carvel built, framework and planking are of wood; official nmber 10196. The smack's port of Caernarvon Shipping Register entry is closed with the annotation 'Vessel lost January 1863 near Penmaen Mawr'.
