Description
OS 2nd edition 25in mapping show a track running diagonally across the beach from the point to climb the cliffside towards the limekiln (NPRN 525695). Admiralty Sailing Directions dating to 1870 confirm that coal and limestone were occasionally discharged on these beaches - ' the bay derives some protection from that head (Pen Cribach) in westerly winds'. A launching slipway at the southernmost tip of the bay confirm that the beach continues to be use as a landing place.
