A section of very tumbled down walling lies outside the southern side of the ramparts of Pen y Gaer hillfort, NPRN 304941. It runs parallel to the rampart for about 30 metres from SN9082086839 to SN9084786839 and maybe represents an outer wall or defence of the hillfort. J.J. Hall, Trysor, 26 March 2014
