Description
A three celled sheep fold. The two main cells are rectangular and together measure approximately 20m by 15m. They each have entrances on the east side. The walls stand up to full height (1.15m high including coping stones) with a thickness of 0.5m in places. Some areas have collapsed, particularly the eastern side. A smaller cell, measuring approximately 7m by 5m, is attached to the western end of the southern main cell. The smaller cell is largely intact with walls standing up to 1.2m high with coping stones. The entrance to this cell is located on the north side. A small drove wall is present on the east of the site and runs to the south-east corner of the sheep fold. A second drove wall to the north runs to the north-east corner of the fold. This site is shown on the First and Second Edition 6" and modern OS mapping. H. Leighton, OA North, 8th April 2015.
