Event and Historical Information:
The MARY was a wooden sloop belonging to Laugharne. It was returning from Bristol to St Clears with a cargo of groceries, when it was caught by a hurricane with winds swing from the south to the northwest on 19 February 1833. The MARY was driven ashore and wrecked at Port Eynon, and tobacco, gin and vinegar were amongst the cargo items later found on the beach.
