Capel Mawr Methodist Chapel was built in 1822. A Sunday school was built 1889-1900 and the chapel appears to have been refronted at this time. The present chapel, dated 1900, is built in the Sub-Classical style of the gable entry type and is now Grade 2 listed, although in the 1990's the chapel was disused. The chapel has an associated with the Lloyd George family (see also NPRN 6792/3).
