Description
Brynrefail Welsh Calvinist Methodist Chapel was built in 1844 for a community founded in 1839. In 1872 a Chapel house and school was added. It is of the Simple Round-Headed style, entered via a central door in the gable elevation. The door is flanked by a pair of tall round-headed windows. The side elevations have four windows on each storey, the lower windows being plain rectangular, while the upper windows have round-headed arched. The side and rear elevations are roughcast, while the front elevation has a darker stone facade with pale dressings. The pitched roof is of Welsh slate.
