Built in 1888 by Shepherd & Sons of Cardiff, on the site of the original Pump House Hotel. Set in 100 acres of parkland and gardens, the Pump House had its own golf links, ornamental boating lake, tennis courts, croquet lawns, bowling green, and quoits pitches. It was demolished in the late 1980s.
