Description
The Port Tennant Copper Works were established in the 1850’s by Mr Charles Lambert who had copper mining and smelting interests in Chile and wished to produce the same in the UK. A gasometer was marked on the 1879 and 1899 OS maps at the Eastern end of the works, indicating a private gasworks to light the copper works.
