Peniel Methodist Chapel was built in 1823 and rebuilt in 1831 and 1862. The present chapel, dated 1862, is built in the Simple Round-Headed style of the hipped box square plan type. Further extension and renovation took place in 1878, under architect Richard Owen of Liverpool, but the chapel closed in the 1980's.
