Lodge Hill Primary School's present building opened in 2018, having been built as part of Welsh Government's 21st Century Schools Programme. Its previous buildings, adjacent, were built in the 1960s with both Infants and Junior departments, before establishing as a primary school in 2013. A new Welsh-medium school - Ysgol Gymraeg Nant Gwenlli - was established on the former Lodge Hill school site in September 2021.
