Description
Llaithdy Baptist Chapel was built in 1805, by the Irish Haigh family from nearby Penithon Hall, originally to house their Irish workers. The building was built of plain whitewashed rubble, long and low, with a corrugated iron roof. The chapel is built in the Vernacular style, with three crudely Gothic windows and intersecting tracery, and a long-wall entry plan. Llaithdy is now Grade 2 Listed as a relatively rare example of an early nineteenth century rural chapel.
