Description

Green Calvinistic Methodist Chapel was built in 1888 in a mixture of the Simple Round-Headed and Arts and Craft styles, as a gable entry type. The front facade and porch are constructed of of polychrome brick with the side elevations hung with slate to weatherproof the structure. It has an attached ministers house which is under a slightly higher roof line. Status (2010): in use.

This former Calvinistic Methodist chapel was founded by members of Sychnant Chapel, St. Harmon parish circa 1887 and was open by 1889. It was used as a schoolroom and for religious meetings. It was a simple gable entry chapel, with a single congregational room and a chapel house attached to its western gable. The chapel had closed by 2019 when it was offered for sale at auction. When recorded in 2023, prior to conversion of the existing building into a dwelling, the chapel had already been stripped of interior fixtures and fittings including pews and the pulpit. Externally, the building retained the character of a gable-entry chapel.
