Cysegr Baptist Chapel was originally a conventional building converted for chapel use in 1839, by permission of the owner Robert Roberts. The cause remained at Dolmelynllyn until the death of Robert Roberts in 1857, when other accommodation had to be found. The cause moved to Glanrafon, near the gold works, where it was permitted the use of a room, by the works manager George Williams. The cause remained here until the death of George Williams in 1864.
