Description
Short, single pound canal, approximately 1.6km long, built about 1809 by the entrepreneur Dr. Richard Griffiths to connect his tramroad (nprn 407018), serving his coal pits to the west of Pontypridd, with the Glamorganshire Canal (nprn 34425). The junction of the two canals is near Blaen-y-llyn, Dynea, at ST 0973 8794 and the terminal basin is at ST 0850 8895. The outline of the junction was visible on the ground in March 1979.
