Description
Glasdir Copper Mine worked a shattered zone of rock that contained copper deposits. From circa 1852 the site was worked as opencast and later it was worked as a mine. William Elmore first applied the principle of oil flotation here, and he purchased the plant in 1896. Parts of the flotation plant have been preserved by Snowdonia National Park, and there are also remains of the terraced processing floors of the main mine building.
